Dustin's 4Runner

When Dustin was 16, he got a job at the local Burger King Restaurant. He worked, and saved months for the down payment on his 1990 Toyota 4-Runner.

To say that Dustin loved his SUV is an understatement. He was crazy about the 4-Runner!

Sometimes boys are very possessive about their vehicles, but if a friend needed to borrow one Dustin usually would lend them his.

As his mom, I seemed to lecture Dustin quite a bit about allowing other people to drive his vehicle and cautioning him against doing that. I think Dustin just had that kind of personality where he would help out anyone, and if a friend needed to use his vehicle, it was no problem.

Dustin was always giving his friends rides to where ever they needed to go.

He spent a lot of time "cruisin" with friends.

The song playing on this page is "Money" by Pink Floyd. Dustin liked this song and listened to it a lot "back in the day". A big thank-you and hug goes to his good friend Amanda for sharing the memory of this song and Dustin.

Dustin was always "cruisin". His 4-runner was his pride and joy.

When Dustin got the 4-runner, the first thing he bought was the dice to hang from the rear view mirror.

Now his sister Kristen has the dice for her car.

On Dustin’s birthday, Sept. 18th, 2004, Dustin’s cousin Brian entered Dustin’s 4 Runner, with it’s “kickin” stereo system, in a local contest. After proudly accepting the first place trophy, he announced it was in memory and honor of his cousin Dustin.
